Silicon Vultures - S/t 7" Not a bad 5 tracks from the UK trio Silicon Vultures – an off-kilter, discordant, new-wave punk sound with plenty of angular texture courtesy of the synths. Problem is, you don't have to go much further than Blood Brothers for a reference here. This may be acerbically- and passionately-done, and decently enough at that, but it's nowhere near as original as they'd like. But considering the band’s tender 1-year age this can be forgiven for now, and it's not a bad start at all. matt |
