motion city soundtrack - i am the movie

'i am the movie' is 14 tracks of catchy, upbeat rock with a healthy dose of synths, landing somewhere in-between jimmy eat world and the reunion show, with a little get up kids thrown in. the irrresistable 'the future freaks me out' is a summer hit-to-be, and there's plenty more tracks along these lines ('capital h', 'a-ok'), as well as some more up-tempo punk moments like 'cambridge' and 'don't call it a comeback'. it's amazing this band went so long unsigned (the band previously put this album out themselves, before epitaph wisely stepped in). with consistently good tracks, and hooks bigger than j-lo's ass, this is excellent stuff.
