Comeback Kid - Broadcasting

It’s a pretty tough job to be come up with a stand-out hardcore punk record these days. In this regard, Comeback Kid’s third full-length Broadcasting represents some achievement. The Canadian four-piece manage to keep all the traditional elements of the genre – the shouted vocals, beatdowns, fist-in-the-air group chants, intensity by the sweat-filled bucketload – but also make the whole thing sound fresh, vital, and damn well catchy. And all while not sacrificing a jot of their integrity. Having lost their original vocalist Scott Wade since the last record, guitarist Andrew Neufeld (former frontman of Figure Four) ably fills the vacancy, making a major contribution to what is an intelligent, gutsy record.
