Boozed - Tight Pants

The first think you’ll notice about Boozed as you pop Tight Pants in your CD player is the unbelievable amount of southern swagger that flows from their high energy, in-your-face, ballsy rock n’ roll, making it hard to believe that these guys are Scandinavian. Add in the 80’s vibe coming off the Hammond organ that appears on most of the album, and the female backing choir on tracks like “Laser Light”, and Boozed are shaping up rather nicely.

Sounding like a more rock-orientated Beatsteaks, and drawing on rock legends such as The Rolling Stones, Boozed are definitely at the more accessible end of the rock n’ roll spectrum. Even if some of the more intense vocal moments get close to screams, the Nashville Pussy references in the press release seem thankfully to be a reference to close friends rather than any musical likeness.

This is straight-up, ruff and ready rock with classic dirty guitar solos breaking out at every opportunity (see “Rattlesnake Threat”). It’s always powerful, always passionate, and produces some beautifully spontaneous moments that easily wedge their way in under the skin. The perfect soundtrack to any bar room brawl.
